About Alta

Alta lies in Finnmark in Northern Norway, near the inner reaches of the Altafjord, and is known as a practical northern hub with a wide landscape of fjords, river valleys, forests and high plateaus around it.

The city is well connected by road along the E6, with regional bus links to other parts of Finnmark and Troms. Alta Airport sits close to the center and offers important domestic connections, making the city one of the easiest gateways to this part of the Arctic.
