About Ayolas

Ayolas is a riverside city in southern Paraguay, set in the Misiones Department on the banks of the Paraná River, close to the border with Argentina. It is known for its calm pace, fishing culture, wide river landscapes and its role as the urban gateway to the Yacyretá hydroelectric complex.

The city is reached mainly by road from San Ignacio and other towns in Misiones, with onward connections toward Encarnación and Asunción.
