V. C. Bird International Airport (ANU) is about 8 km from St John's city center. The main transport options are licensed taxis, pre-booked private transfers, hotel or shared shuttles, car rental, and limited public minibus connections from nearby roads rather than from the terminal itself.

Bus

Public buses in Antigua are mostly privately operated minibuses running between St John's and local villages. There is no reliable municipal bus stop directly outside the V. C. Bird International Airport arrivals terminal, so travelers usually need to walk or take a short taxi ride to a nearby road stop. This option is cheapest but least convenient with luggage. Average journey time to St John's is around 30 to 45 minutes including walking and waiting time.

• Route 42: East Bus Station to Airport Road, Coolidge and the Free Trade Zone area
• East Bus Station connections: onward routes into central St John's
• Local minibuses: useful for onward island travel once you are already in St John's

Airport Shuttle

There is no Havas or Havabus service at V. C. Bird International Airport. Instead, some hotels, resorts and local operators provide scheduled or pre-arranged airport shuttles to St John's and nearby accommodation areas. Book before arrival and confirm the meeting point, as shuttle desks and pickup arrangements can vary. Average travel time to St John's city center is about 15 to 25 minutes.

• Hotel shuttle pickup outside arrivals
• Shared shuttle to St John's hotels and guesthouses
• Resort transfer desks or driver meet-and-greet points in the arrivals area

Taxi

Licensed taxis are the most straightforward way to travel from V. C. Bird International Airport to St John's city center. Taxis are available at the airport daily and are the best choice for late arrivals, luggage, families and first-time visitors. Confirm the fare and currency with the driver before departure. Average travel time is about 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Car Rental

Car rental is available at or near V. C. Bird International Airport, with several agencies serving arriving passengers. Rental offices are generally reached from the terminal exit or by a short airport shuttle to the rental facility. Bird International Airport to St John's city center, especially for groups, business travelers, families or anyone arriving outside normal daytime hours.
