About Vitebsk

Vitebsk lies in northeastern Belarus on the Western Dvina and Vitba rivers, close to the borders with Russia and Latvia. It is one of the country's oldest cities, known for its river landscapes, compact historic center, artistic identity, and calm provincial rhythm.

The best-known activity is Slavianski Bazaar, an international arts festival that brings concerts and visitors each summer. Local food follows Belarusian traditions, with draniki, soups, dairy products, rye bread, berries, mushrooms, and simple home-style dishes common in cafés and restaurants.

Within the city, transport includes buses, trolleybuses, minibuses, taxis, and ride-hailing services, while the central area is manageable on foot for most main sights.
