About Agra

Agra lies in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the Yamuna River, and is best known as one of India's great historic cities. It is a busy, atmospheric destination where Mughal architecture, crowded bazaars, river views and everyday urban life sit close together.

The city is well connected by road and rail, especially with Delhi and Jaipur as part of the popular Golden Triangle route. Social life centers on bazaars, local eateries, craft shopping and evening walks near historic areas. Agra is known for marble inlay work, leather goods and sweets such as petha, along with North Indian and Mughlai flavors. Within the city, visitors usually get around by auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw, taxi, app-based cabs, cycle rickshaw and local buses.
