Air Tanzania, officially Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), is the national carrier of Tanzania and was established in 1977 following the dissolution of East African Airways. Headquartered in Dar es Salaam and operating from Julius Nyerere International Airport, the airline has grown from a regional operator into a modern, government-owned carrier recognized for its renewed investment, improved reliability and strategic role in connecting Tanzania with Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
