What is a visa and what is it for?

Purpose:

• Travel Authorisation: A visa grants permission to enter a foreign country and is usually issued for various purposes such as tourism, business, study or temporary residence.
• Border Control: A visa is checked by official authorities at national borders and grants the right to enter the country.

Types:

• Tourist Visa: A visa issued for short-term visits for tourist purposes.

• Student Visa: A visa issued for educational or research purposes.
• Temporary Residence Visa: A visa issued for longer-term stays.
• Transit Visa: A visa issued for short-term stops at an airport or land border of a country whilst transiting to another country.

Application Process:

• Required Documents: A passport, photograph, travel insurance, bookings, documents proving your financial situation and other supporting documents may be required.
• Appointment and Interview: During the visa application process, some countries may require an interview with the applicant or request an appointment.

• Long-Term Visa: May be valid for one year or longer, though it is usually issued for a specific period.

Visa Refusal:

Visa-Free Travel:
